We asked ChatGPT 8 questions a buyer would ask, in French, each twice. Every answer is kept. This shop was named in none of them. The most-named competitor was linked in 12 of 16.

Counting rule: a shop counts as named when its own domain is among the links in the answer. A name written in the text without a link is not counted. We never round "named in 1 of 2" up to "recommended".
2. What ChatGPT says when asked about the shop by name
When a buyer types the shop's name, ChatGPT knows it and recommends it. The trouble is that buyers rarely start with the name. They ask for a category, and in the 16 answers to those questions the shop did not appear. Your report keeps the by-name answer word for word. Here it is left out because it would identify the shop.
3. Technical check of the homepage
Every audit checks four things on your homepage and reports what it found:
- whether robots.txt lets OpenAI's search crawler (OAI-SearchBot) in;
- whether the shop is indexed in Bing, which ChatGPT search draws on;
- whether product and category text is in the raw HTML, not only added by scripts;
- whether the page states who you are: organisation data, address, contact.
Results are specific to each shop, so none are shown for this one. In our study of 127 answers, these technical points did not separate linked shops from unlinked ones (see the study). We check them because a failure would block everything else, not because passing them gets you named.
4. Fixes, in order
- One page for the organic and fair-trade question. Asked "Where to buy organic, fair-trade coffee beans delivered in Belgium?", ChatGPT linked Oxfam, MediaMarkt, Carrefour, Malongo and cafeengrains.be, plus two Belgian roasters, Cafermi and Torrefactory. In its closing advice for a Belgian craft roaster, it named Torrefactory. A page titled on that question, with the labels, delivery time and price per kilo in its first lines, gives ChatGPT an answer it can repeat.
- One page for the subscription question. Asked for a bean subscription delivered in Belgium, ChatGPT linked andy-roasters.be, orcoffee.be and caffenation.be in both tries. A page on that question states the monthly price, the delivery rhythm and how to cancel, in plain words, in its title and first paragraph.
- State the facts the linked shops state. The shops ChatGPT linked publish a starting price, a delivery time and a free-shipping threshold on the page. We saw this on those shops. Our study has not tested whether it causes the linking.
