A badge for your AI-crawler check
Run the free AI-crawler check on your domain. The result page then gives you a small badge and one line of HTML. The badge shows how many of the 8 crawlers we checked are allowed, and the day we checked.
Add it in three steps
- Run the free AI-crawler check for your domain.
- On the result page, copy the snippet under “Show this on your site”.
- Paste it into your footer or your about page.
Check your domain first
What it looks like
Example: the badge for theguardian.com, a public site we do not own, from a check on 2026-10-23. It is shown only to illustrate the badge.
The snippet
Replace yourdomain.com with the domain you checked. Until a domain has been checked, its badge address answers 404.
What the badge says
One check, one day: how many of the 8 crawlers (GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended, Bingbot, Googlebot) your robots.txt and your server allowed. It does not say how you rank or whether an assistant mentions you. Run the check again to refresh the badge; it always shows the date of the latest check.
Licence
Free to use on any site, with attribution: keep the link to CitedBy. We keep the domain, the count and the check date for the badge, and delete them 90 days after the badge was last requested. No IP address is stored with them.
Need more than crawler access?
The badge covers crawler access only. A CitedBy audit crawls your pages, up to your plan's page limit, and gives you the exact fix for each issue.
