Checks / Content and readability
Duplicate or near-duplicate content
Pages with the same main text compete with each other; search engines and assistants pick one and ignore the rest.
content_duplicate · Content and readability · Warning
What triggers it
Two or more indexable pages have the same text, or nearly the same, by a text fingerprint. A redirect is not counted as a copy of its target.
What to change
Merge the pages, make each one distinct, or point duplicates to the main page with a canonical.
How to confirm the fix
- Open the pages side by side: each has its own main text, or the duplicates carry a canonical to the main page
- Run a new crawl
How common it is
In the audits of our own sites on 26 Oct 2026 (4 sites): finding judged right on civiqpass.com, hexaciv.com, resaleiq.dev; false alarm on civiqpass.com.
