Checks / Links, canonical and speed
Links send readers to a page in another language
Pages in one language link to a page that is only in another (an English page linking the Spanish price page). Visitors land on text they cannot read, and the link tells engines that page is the one for this language.
link_wrong_language · Links, canonical and speed · Warning
What triggers it
A page links to a page in another language, and the target has no version in the language of the page that links to it; the finding names the link.
What to change
Link to this language's own version of the page; if there is none, publish it, or link to the language switcher instead.
How to confirm the fix
- Open the page and click the link: it opens a page in the same language as the one you left
- Run a new crawl
How common it is
In the audits of our own sites on 26 Oct 2026 (4 sites): finding judged right on citedby.eu, resaleiq.dev; false alarm on civiqpass.com.
