Checks / Titles, headings and schema
No single
landmark
Screen readers and content extractors look for one visible
element to find the page's own content, apart from the menu and footer.
no_main_landmark · Titles, headings and schema · Notice
What triggers it
A page with 20 or more words has no
element and no role="main", or has more than one visible. Pages that are noindex, empty shells, or have a shadow root we cannot see into are left out.
What to change
Wrap the page's own content (not the header, nav or footer) in one
element.
Example
HTML to put in the page:

…

…the content that is only on this page…

…

How to confirm the fix
- View Source and search for <main: exactly one, around the page's own content
- Press 'Re-check 1 page'
