How to check whether AI assistants recommend your shop
Updated 18 October 2026. Short answer: ask each assistant the questions your buyers ask, twice, with web search on, and count how often your shop is named and how often your site is linked. Our free scan does this for you without an account.
Do it by hand in 10 minutes
- Write 5 questions a buyer would type, for your product and country. Example: "best online shop for specialty coffee in Belgium". Do not put your shop name in them.
- Ask each question in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini, logged out, with web search on.
- Ask each question a second time. Answers change between runs.
- For each answer note two things: is your shop named in the text, and is your domain in the links.
- Add it up: named in 3 of 40 answers is a different situation from 0 of 40.
Do it with the free scan
The free scan asks several assistants through their official APIs with web search on, and shows who was named instead of you. There is no account. The crawler check is separate: it tells you whether AI crawlers can read your site, not whether an assistant names you.
Check you are reading the right company
Ask each assistant "what is [your shop name]" first. If it describes another business with a similar name, fix that before anything else: add an About page with your legal name, country and domain, put Organization data in JSON-LD on the home page, and link the same facts from your listings.
If you are not named
The fixes that tend to matter are on your own site (a page that answers the buyer question directly, product data with price and availability) and off it (the pages assistants cite for your category, such as comparison articles and directories). Our sample audit shows what that looks like for one shop. The About page explains how we count.
The Fix Pack is €390 paid once: we make the changes and re-check at day 30. The audit itself is free.
